A daily update is a report or summary of events, progress, or changes that occur on a daily basis. For example, a team may provide a daily update of project developments during morning meetings. Another example is a software update, such as Microsoft’s Patch Tuesday. Critical security updates are released outside of the Patch Tuesday schedule and can be received through daily updates.
When you design your daily updates intent, keep the conversation short and focused on delivering content that the user would be interested in receiving regularly. Make sure that the daily updates you offer are unique to your Action and provide added value for users each day. Avoid repeating the prompt to register for daily updates in other contexts, and wait until you have shown how your Action adds value to a user’s life before asking them to subscribe.
To test your daily updates, invoke one of the intents you configured as a daily update in your Assistant app on your Android or iOS device. Then follow a prompt for subscribing to your daily updates (which you can include as a mid-conversation registration chip or as a suggestion after the user exits your Action successfully). When the user taps the daily updates prompt, they will receive a notification on their device and start receiving content at their scheduled time each day.
